My action research is not progressing as quickly as some other parts of the program. I am behind on my timeline. However, my timeline was very brief. I had planned to have everything completed by the end of the school year. Unfortunately, that won’t be possible. I do think I can make quite a bit of progress on it this summer. To date, I have sent home and received back the parent technology surveys. I was so pleased with the participation rate. I received surveys from approximately sixty percent of our families. About ninety percent of the surveys I received are in Spanish. Our office attendant is in the process of translating the surveys for me. She hopes to be done by the end of April. My principal has been so supportive of my project. He wants the staff to complete their technology survey at a faculty meeting to ensure we have one hundred percent participation. I have the survey prepared. We intended to have the teachers complete it at our teacher workday after Winter Break. However, the district decided to pull many members of our staff to district wide staff development. So, we made the decision to postpone the survey until we could have a better participation rate. Unfortunately,
our staff meetings have been full of other business. I feel confident that we can administer the survey after all state testing is completed. It will definitely be completed by the end of the year. Completing it by the end of the year will allow me to move onto the second phase of my project over the summer.
